Larry Leaf Posted March 23, 2009 #1 Posted March 23, 2009 Need info on changing brake pads on 06 RSTD.Any special tools need or special pads? Thanks
jburrell Posted March 23, 2009 #2 Posted March 23, 2009 NO special tools. On the brakes just 2 bolts to remove. I did my back and front with just a socket, pliers to force the pistons back in and a pair of needle nose pliers to get out the small clips that holds the rods that holds both pads in the caliper. Check the tec section for more info. I used the sisntered HH pads.
Larry Leaf Posted March 23, 2009 Author #3 Posted March 23, 2009 Thanks for the help JB.First time on this sit.Great so far.
MiCarl Posted March 24, 2009 #4 Posted March 24, 2009 When you push the pistons back in the fluid level in the reservoir will rise. If you've been keeping it topped up you may want to remove some with a clean paper towel so it doesn't overflow. Brake fluid is the best paint remover there is.
