I went to the Great Southern Cycle Expo in Jackson(MS) Saturday. As expected, it was 85% H-D but I started out parking next to an '07 RSV and there was an '05(I think) a few spaces away. As I walked in there was another '07 by the gate and another super clean '05 not far away. BUT, as I was leaving I passed the first Midnight that I have seen in person. WOW! I'm not usually into black bikes (even tho my other bike is an '06 Roadie Midnight) but there is something about the way the Midnight RSV puts it all together. It's hard to believe that sales were so slow that they stopped the Midnights in '07.

I'm not sure what Yamaha was thinking when they stopped making the Midnights. I hope to find a 2005 to 2007 Midnight for my garage soon.....:biker:

:sign yeah that:

Ahh you see what we see.

Now you see why I searched all over the USA back in Sept of last year to find a 07 Midnight still on the dealers lot with 19 miles in Murray Kentucky. Took off a day of work and 14 hours round trip straight driving to pick it up.

I think they made a bad mistake discontinuing the Midnight bikes. Some folks do not like a black bike but to me they really stand out.

There was an 07 midnite parked at the Dubuque Works two weeks ago. I parked next to it. I had not wanted a black bike, and I still love my two tone green.

However, that midnite was sharp!

Wife & I both love our RSMV. I like some of the colors as well but the "blackie" is "THE ONE". Only problem is.... it takes twice as much work to keep it clean and dang, every little scratch or swirl mark shows up so easilly.

I actually saw a brand new '07 Midnight Venture for sale at the Indy Motorcycle Expo last month. Since I ride one; I was drawn over to it. Maybe I should have bought it as a backup? :scratchchin:

I fell for mine as soon as I saw it and probably paid a premium because RSVs were kind of hard to find in 2002. I don't know if I will ever have another black bike though because of how easy they get dirty. For the first couple of years I couldn't get gas with out somebody saying something about how good it looked. I probably washed it more the first year than my previous bike the whole time I had it.

When I got my '07 midnight RSTD, I wasn't sure about the color, but have since fallen in love with it. I now make sure everything is black and avoid chrome. I want what little chrome is on the bike to stand out and the black to be more 'ominous' looking. I even went as far as painting all the engine bolts and hose clamps flat black... very cool IMHO.

Chrome just stands out more on a black bike. I noticed that years ago when I was a teenager and looking at bikes in parking lots and going down the road. :thumbsup2:
