timgray Posted March 23, 2009 #1 Posted March 23, 2009 Upgraded to TWO badboy air horns. I was ready for it and even I jumped when I hit the thing. I think I'll be scaring cagers into thinking they just cut off a semi truck instead of a motorcycle. I got rid of the fairing air ducting (it's useless anyways, I could not feel air from those vents even at 70 and an un-gloved hand in front of the vent.) and installed them in the space with their horns pointing down. you really have to take off the front fairing to get them in there though. but it's worth it. http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/rodi_2044_487357928
bongobobny Posted March 23, 2009 #2 Posted March 23, 2009 When I bought my chrome one a little over a year ago it cost me around $45. I just got the latest JC Whitney catalog and they now go for $70!!!!!

Couldn't be bothered to fix a bracket for it, just drilled two holes in the airvane piece and then used cable ties to hold it in place. Wired the relay into the circuit using the original wires for the primary feed, and running a new 14ga wire to the accessory post for the secondary circuit and then to ground. Worked great for about 3 blasts, and then it quit. Took everything out once more and found no problems, everything seemed to work, but no noise at all. Then I checked where the accessory post got it's feed from and discovered that it was fed with a 10 amp fuse, replaced the fuse with the recommended 20 amp, and now I'm working on my seat. I also got a piece of foam to cover the hole going to the lower faring, to cut down on air flow into the upper faring area and so reduce moisture intake as well as bug intake.
