MKii Chin Cowl bolts?

My 86 has four dome head, chromed allen bolts that hold the chin cowl on. They look nice and don't snag anything when you are wiping her down. One of mine is stripping in the allen hole so I looked up the part in Yamaha parts list:

90110-06078-00

BOLT, HEXAGON SOCKET

and even in the drawing it LOOKS like a regular socket head bolt...

 

I didn't think thesse were custom but I'd sure like to find new ones... any ideas?

 

The normal is a socket head on the rest of the MKii bikes out there?

when i needed new ones i just ordered them from the yamaha dealer nothing speacial about them had them in a week.

Part number was 90149-05185-00

You ordered the number off the parts list and it WAS a domed, allen hed bolt?

thats right i believe the part number you show may be the wrong number i looked up 86 and it is the same as 89. As a matter of fact I got 2 sets because they were the same on my buddys 84 as well which leads me to believe they are the same on all 1st gens from 83 to 93 even thogh the chin straps are different

But when I look at the 86 or 89 (or 93) parts lists shows the initial number I posted...

I gotta get me a couple sets of those domers.

 

I just called my local Yamaha dealer and they quoted me $4.39 ea., and when told him I needed 8 of them, and would like to buy them local, and that I found them listed for $3 bucks somewhere else, he dropped the price to $2.89 each. I also ordered the sleeves, didn't ask the price...didn't care.. Sometimes you win some....
