ScottnstephsVenture Posted March 17, 2009 #1 Posted March 17, 2009 I need to find out if I can get replacement rubber strips for my floorboards on my 99 Royal Star Venture. Pictures below: http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f357/scottnsteph/20090316_0341.jpghttp://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f357/scottnsteph/20090316_0343.jpg
Sleeperhawk Posted March 17, 2009 #2 Posted March 17, 2009 Here are the part numbers from Yamaha Replacement Rubber (Left) STR-4WM27-11-21 $28.95 Replacement Rubber (Right) STR-4WM27-11-22 $28.95
ScottnstephsVenture Posted March 17, 2009 Author #3 Posted March 17, 2009 Unfortunately, I have already looked at those, and they do not match. The rubber strips on those are curved, whereas the strips on mine are straight, as shown in the pictures.
pegscraper Posted March 17, 2009 #4 Posted March 17, 2009 The straight ones are gone. You're pretty much out of luck. What you could do is find some rubber sheet somewhere and cut some to fit. Scrape or grind the chrome off in the slots and the glue will work a lot better.
Mikealiasmike Posted March 17, 2009 #5 Posted March 17, 2009 "Scrape or grind the chrome off" sacrilegious :doh:
ScottnstephsVenture Posted March 17, 2009 Author #6 Posted March 17, 2009 thanks all for you replies... I was thinking the same thing. That I will have to just modify my own.
