hale374 Posted March 15, 2009 #1 Posted March 15, 2009 I've read pretty much everything I can about the car tire on the rear of the bike. I'm willing to give it a try. Now, the question is, is there anyone in or near VA to give me a hand? I'm even willing to come to you to put it on. I've never done a tire change and would just feel more comfortable with someone that has done it.
pegscraper Posted March 16, 2009 #2 Posted March 16, 2009 I can't help you with installation. I am curious which tire you decided to use.
ToRide1 Posted March 16, 2009 #3 Posted March 16, 2009 I remember seeing a thread started here on Kenda Tires and from what few were saying about them, it was looking promising as a high mileage tire.

Are you talking about help removing the wheel from the bike or removing the tire from the wheel and replacing the car tire on the wheel?

Are you sure it's a Kenda car tire? I can't remember ever seeing that brand of car tire in a size that fits our bikes. Where have you found it? It would be good to have one more option.

hale374 Posted March 16, 2009 Author #7 Posted March 16, 2009 I'm looking to have wheel removed, tire removed and replaced with the car tire. I will probably go with the Federal tire.
tsigwing Posted March 18, 2009 #8 Posted March 18, 2009 I bought my BFG Radial from Discount Tire and they mounted it for me no problems.
Maritimer Posted March 18, 2009 #9 Posted March 18, 2009 How good is that BFG? That's what I have on order for mine.
Monty Posted March 18, 2009 #10 Posted March 18, 2009 I have a Kenda on the rear of my other bike, and it's the best one I've had in a while. I used to run Dunlop, but they have been wearing out really fast the last few years. BTW, I have an Elite 3 on the front of it, and it started dryrotting rather quickly.
