gibvel Posted March 15, 2009 #1 Posted March 15, 2009 Just saw a sweet, sweet, practically showroom 1st gen for sale. Tried to get ahold of the owner for some questions but he didn't answer. I'm guess it to be either a 92 or 93. It may be a 91. The blue is rather blackish from a distance. It's got 65,000 on the clock (don't know if it's 165,000 I was going to ask. I'll post some photos I took but this thing is sweet. the worst thing I could find on it was that, maybe, and I mean maybe, there's some sun fading to the back of the trunk but it's hard to tell. Looks like a brand new Avon Venom on the rear and about 30 to 40% left on the Avon Venom front (can't really judge). I'd be willing to do some leg (seat of the pants) work for someone if they want to pursue this bike. I'll post any other information that I find out from the owner. Guy's name is Randy.
gibvel Posted March 15, 2009 Author #2 Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) Okay, spoke with the owner, Randy Frank (used to be a member of the Venturers) It's a 93. Randy is the 3rd owner and put about 40,000 miles on it since he's had it (4 years or so) Says the rear tire is new, the brake pads are fairly new always changed oil @ 5,000 with synthetic Valvoline. He want's $4,500 for it. Just throwing this out in case anyone is interested in a first gen in very very nice condition. Edited March 15, 2009 by gibvel
84xj1100 Posted March 16, 2009 #3 Posted March 16, 2009 Holy crap......that's beautiful.......wow.....I'd say it just by looking at it that it's only 65K and a very loving, gentle, well cared for 65K at that......Whoever buys that I'm sure won't be disappointed at all:cool10::cool10::sun:
MikeM8560 Posted March 16, 2009 #5 Posted March 16, 2009 Wow nice bike id buy it from the pics. actualy i did on mine also. What is that digital display on the right side next to the vent? mine dosent have that. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b22/MikeM8560/Venture%20XVZ12/MVC-661S.jpg?t=1237164842
gibvel Posted March 16, 2009 Author #6 Posted March 16, 2009 The digital thing, by the vent, is a temp gauge and I'm assuming clock. It's a stick on unit. It also has the trunk reflector replaced with the lighted unit. There are also some small square LED additions under the trunk.

Condor Posted March 16, 2009 #9 Posted March 16, 2009 Definately a dandy, but.... at $4,500 it's getting a bit close to what a clean '99RSV will bring in this economy... Two years ago is would have brought more than the 4.5... IMHO
Bvinson Posted March 23, 2009 #11 Posted March 23, 2009 I know Randy and he takes care of his equipment. I sold my 88 to his riding partner Denny that also lives in Loveland.
