I took off work early yesterday, “no work” and went home and started a fire in the wood stove in the garage.

I called my son and nephew over to see if they wanted to hang out while I worked on my bike. We took apart the swing arm on the 2001 Suzuki DRZ 400. It only has 3800 miles on it but I bought it used last year and thought I had better check it out. It needed to be greased but was not’t real bad yet.

It had been raining out most of the day and on the cool side. The wood stove warmed the garage up real nice and it wasn't long we were in tee shirts. My son brought over his 13 week old Labradoodle pup. He has only had it for three days. Cute pup, very mellow.

I went in the house and got a cast iron skillet and some Venison steaks out of the freezer. Put some butter in the pan and set it on top of the wood stove. It was not’t long and the aroma was starting to smell very good. We enjoyed each others company for another hour or so just setting around the wood stove and enjoying some Venison. The time was good. We need more of it.

Just sharing a good time that didn't cost anything.

Good for you!!! Wish it were me, but I don't have a shop or garage for that matter. Warm shop, wrenching on bike, good company,a puppy and venison on the wood stove what a great day. Rod

Plenty of time in the warm garage this year, not on the bike (yet) but on the 79 Camaro I bought for my sons first car. Now I get to teach him how to replace a motor....... Spun the bearing on #8 connecting rod......

Thats what memories are made of. And a curiosity (for him) for mechanical things and how they work. Learned that from my dad when I was young, just trying to pay it forward.
