awsmsrv Posted August 2, 2007 #1 Posted August 2, 2007 I know some of you have this. Interested, but leary. 3 hours of battery power just doesn't make sense to me. What do you do about the short battery life? Do you carry spares? Is there a way to hard wire it to the bike? Thanks in advance.

It comes with a car mount that plugs into the aux (cigarrete lighter) connection and a motorcycle mount and cable you can attach to battery power. The onboard battery is just for programming, etc while you are not connected.
BuddyRich Posted August 2, 2007 #3 Posted August 2, 2007 What he said. The onboard battery would also only be used if you are hiking. Then you just turn it on as needed to get your bearings and turn it off and keep moving
