Skid Posted March 22, 2009 #76 Posted March 22, 2009 I'll still be there 18th, but had a suggestion for those who can't make 18th,how about meeting on 11th? Long time no hear from you Bob. Good to see you still around and hope to see you at the Meet...
Paul Posted March 22, 2009 #77 Posted March 22, 2009 Good news the 18th has just opened up for us (2), The wife has to switch a day with someone but shouldnt be a problem. We will probably be comming down Friday and going back Sunday. I will have to check with my sister in law as she is a manager of a hotel here and she always gets us special rates when we travel which is nice. I think the Sleep Inn is one of the hotels on the list that she can get good rates from. I can ask maybe she can get a group rate. I know it all depends on availability and hotel policy but I can ask. So please add us to the list if there is still room. Also Bumble bee we are about 45 minutes from Johnstown so shoot me an email before Thunder in the valley and we will hook up. Paul
halfwitt Posted March 22, 2009 Author #78 Posted March 22, 2009 This is great! We are at 43 people on 26 bikes. I contacted Ruth at the restaurant and she said she will make sure there is room for all! Looking forward to it!

We will be touring the Battlefield Friday afternoon, just not sure what time we will be there as we are leaving early from Sledgehammer's place that morning and taking the back roads to PA. Hope to see you and your wife that evening.
Venturing Sole Posted March 26, 2009 #80 Posted March 26, 2009 Halfwitt, I know a guy in York who might be interested in joining us for lunch. He rides an Ultra Classic, but he's a nice guy. Works for BAE (BMY to those who know the area long time). He's also a Patriot Guard rider. I won't extend the invite if you're full up and I don't even know for sure if he's free, but I think he'd enjoy meeting folks in our group. Let me know. Thanks David
ToRide1 Posted March 26, 2009 #81 Posted March 26, 2009 I will try to be there ! weather permitting this is a easy day trip for me.

Thanks David I can't speak for halfwit but if the guy wants to come go for it. (as long as it's ok with the one whose setting this up) Anyway around here it doesn't matter what ya ride. We have folks that have harley's, BMW's, Kaw's, etc. We just like folks that like to ride and of course eat, not to mention the BS that goes on as well, plus the ice cream. Margaret
halfwitt Posted March 26, 2009 Author #83 Posted March 26, 2009 I contacted the restaurant and they say we're still good. Come on down!
Paul Posted March 26, 2009 #84 Posted March 26, 2009 We got our reservation last night. We are staying at the Econolodge on York street I believe. We will also be getting there Friday sometime and coming back home Sunday. There must be something else going on as a lot of the hotels are booked up already. Anyway if its ok another couple is comming down with us I am almost certain they were to make their reservation last night as well, is there room for 2 more? not a big deal if not as they have never been to Gettysburg before so I am sure they can find something to do for a couple hours. I just hope the weather holds out and gives us a nice weekend. Paul
cecdoo Posted March 26, 2009 #85 Posted March 26, 2009 Boy this is shaping up to be one heck of a get together, cant wait to meet all the new folks and check out the bikes!! Craig
skydoc_17 Posted March 26, 2009 #86 Posted March 26, 2009 Both Jean and I are planning to attend, Jean is trying to rearrange her work schedule as we speak. I tried to make this M&E last year and the fuse box fell of my 87'VR. I hope to have better luck this year. I am dieing to put some faces to some of the names that I see on this site and see some of your bikes as well. Hopefully we will have good weather and Jean will be able to get off of work. Safe Journeys to everyone, Earl and Jean

ToRide1 Posted March 29, 2009 #97 Posted March 29, 2009 So we are to get there by 2:00 or has that changed?. I'm going try and get there early so I can sight see a little.
Ferrantelli Posted March 29, 2009 #98 Posted March 29, 2009 We're officially meeting at noon. Looking forward to meeting a lot of new people. If you haven't seen Gettysburg, you should try to spend some time touring the battlefield. If you are a Civil War buff, there are a lot of shops in town you may find interesting. Looking forward to it! I think it is 12:00 NOON.
Sleeperhawk Posted March 29, 2009 #99 Posted March 29, 2009 I think it is 12:00 NOON. It is 12 noon according to his earlier posts. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=310771#poststop
