Another long time archer and bow hunter here thou both have taken somewhat of a back seat to motorcycling now. Still shoot a 3-D league during winter months.

As to bow selections I'd say same as others have already said - go to a reputable bow shop.With bow designs (& costs) constantly changing it's hard to keep up with the latest and greatest (?) technology.
