Grey Ghost Posted March 8, 2009 #1 Posted March 8, 2009 Man, I hate time change. I'm really not in favor of many changes at all, except...........new bikes.
bongobobny Posted March 8, 2009 #2 Posted March 8, 2009 We managed to survive another one, we so far are on schedule this morning...
RedRider Posted March 8, 2009 #3 Posted March 8, 2009 Why is it that I slept in until 7, but still feel tired? RR
Squidley Posted March 8, 2009 #4 Posted March 8, 2009 Always screws me up for a week or better, I know they have their excuses as to why we do it, but I would much rather see it done away with
Condor Posted March 8, 2009 #5 Posted March 8, 2009 I wish they'd just split the difference and set the time back a half hour in the fall... split the difference... and leave it there....forever.. DST IS A PITA.....
friesman Posted March 8, 2009 #6 Posted March 8, 2009 We dont change time here in Saskatchewan and I wish we did. By mid August my evenings are getting shorter and its hard to get in enuff time after work to enjoy some of our nicest evenings. Also i have a lot of dealings with out of province companies and everyone finds it confusing when 6 months there is an hours time difference and the other 6 months I have 2 hours difference. Brian
pegscraper Posted March 8, 2009 #7 Posted March 8, 2009 Ya buncha whiners. I love it myself. I lose one hour of sleep one night in the spring. It takes all of one whole day to adjust to it, if that. And for that I get an extra hour of daylight at a usable time of day every single day for the next several months. That means more riding or wrenching time, or whatever else needs to be done. There's no need for broad daylight at 5 AM in the summer time. Then at the end of it all I get my hour of sleep back. This is a trade I gladly make. I had been itching for it ever since I was old enough to understand what it was. Indiana just adopted this in the past couple years. We had been behind for far too long. DST means that better weather is on the way. (Not today though. It's pouring rain here.)
pegscraper Posted March 8, 2009 #9 Posted March 8, 2009 You know what I'm talking about, Joe. It was 70º here yesterday. A mostly clear, beautiful day. I added a few miles to my bike's odometer. And it got dark far too early.
GG54172 Posted March 8, 2009 #10 Posted March 8, 2009 I wish they would leave daylight savings time on year round. I do not see the benefit of turning the clocks back an hour in the winter. Then again, I wish we would use the metric system too.
tooldood Posted March 8, 2009 #11 Posted March 8, 2009 Ya know how you all feel the week after the clocks change?? I feel that way every week!! I travel for work every week and more often than not across multiple time zones.
midnightventure Posted March 8, 2009 #12 Posted March 8, 2009 I wish we would stay on Daylight Savings time year round. I hate getting home from work right before it gets dark in the winter.
okscott Posted March 9, 2009 #14 Posted March 9, 2009 I loved the change, I was at work at 2 am Sunday morning. That 2-3am hour is so dead usually, just flew by (and I only had to work a 11 hour shift instead of 12 but got paid for 12)
BradT Posted March 10, 2009 #15 Posted March 10, 2009 Never bothers me, but I can never remember if it is one hour or two difference in Saskatchewan. I call there quite often, good thing the person I talk too is always there very early. Brad

Guest tx2sturgis Posted March 10, 2009 #17 Posted March 10, 2009 I like the way Arizona does it. They don't. Well actually, that is only partially correct. The large Navajo reservation which is in Arizona DOES observe Daylight Savings time. So all the business, homes, and offices are on the same time zone as the Navajo reservations in New Mexico. Collectively it is referred to as the Navajo Nation and it is contained in 4 states.

Is that the same group who charges us admission at the four corners monument which was placed there by the US Army core of engineers on our nickel?
