Yama Mama Posted March 5, 2009 #1 Posted March 5, 2009 Due to all the snow and ACTS OF NATURE we had in my town, our school system will be open on June 5th, the day that we planned to leave for Freebirds. I do not know what we will be able to do now. I guess we have to leave really early on Saturday. Do not like riding in the dark on those early morning expressway trips. We will figure out something. Yama Mama Posted March 5, 2009 Author #3 Posted March 5, 2009 It doesn't work that way in a school district. I have to work on some plan, do not know yet how to do it, if I can at all. But it is making me sick. Yama Mama
Ozark Posted March 5, 2009 #4 Posted March 5, 2009 Maybe you should try this. Our region missed so much school because of the ice storm that they are petitioning the state to reduce the number of days required this year. My son is a teacher and he just doesn't know what it means to "work" in June. Just wish I could get my paycheck and get his time off!! Oh well, hope you can figure something out to make it.
mini-muffin Posted March 5, 2009 #5 Posted March 5, 2009 Peggy isn't it like a 4 hr ride or so from your place to Don's? You could head out in the morning just as the sun comes up and get there. We'll help you set up your tent. Margaret
Dano Posted March 6, 2009 #6 Posted March 6, 2009 C'mon Peg, we'll not hear any of this balderdash! School gets out at 3, on the road by 4, just starting to get dark by 9 up at Don's! We'll pull all the 1st gens around with lights on to set up the tent! YOU CAN DO IT!
ronhenry4 Posted March 6, 2009 #7 Posted March 6, 2009 C'mon Peg you have to figure somthing out im sooo looking foward to meeting you guys i can come and kidnap you two if ya want
Cinderella Posted March 6, 2009 #8 Posted March 6, 2009 well Im not going if you arent going!!!..................... do ya think that will work??
Yama Mama Posted March 6, 2009 Author #9 Posted March 6, 2009 Well I am feeling tremendous pressure here folks. I have to talk to my boss, and see if I can work a half day somehow. Then we could leave around 1:00PM. I do not get off work until 4PM. I cannot not come in, because they will make me make it up somehow. Dern this is a real problem. Yama Mama
Rottdoglover Posted March 6, 2009 #10 Posted March 6, 2009 C'mon Peg, we'll not hear any of this balderdash! School gets out at 3, on the road by 4, just starting to get dark by 9 up at Don's! We'll pull all the 1st gens around with lights on to set up the tent! YOU CAN DO IT! "We'll pull all the 1st gens around with lights on to set up the tent!" Wouldn't this act of kindness turn into a disaster. I mean the tent will melt, those trying to help will suffer 2nd degree burns, planes will try to land, and so on. So, maybe just a FEW lights. See you guys there Peg!
BuddyRich Posted March 6, 2009 #11 Posted March 6, 2009 Leave at 6am and you'll be there by 10am. It'll be plenty light enough at 5 am if you wanted to leave then.
Yammer Dan Posted March 6, 2009 #12 Posted March 6, 2009 Those tents can be put up in the dark. Remember?? Now who would ever call off sick to go to a Bike Meet??
Midrsv Posted March 6, 2009 #13 Posted March 6, 2009 I plan on riding up Saturday morning. I'm about an hour south of you. I could meet up with you Saturday morning and we could ride together. We could make it by 10:30 or 11:00. Dennis
Yama Mama Posted March 6, 2009 Author #14 Posted March 6, 2009 Thank you Dennis. I am going to try something I have never done before. I am going to be honest and forth right and tell them I am having surgery that day. I will see what happens. Yama Mama:innocent-emoticon:

Squeeze Posted March 6, 2009 #16 Posted March 6, 2009 and on Top of that, send your Tent up to Don early and it will be standing there waiting for ya .... (now, ain't i a nice Guy feeding fellow Members with Work ....) :D :D
mini-muffin Posted March 6, 2009 #17 Posted March 6, 2009 I like the way you think Squeeze. I'm sure someone would be willing to do that work. :rotf::rotf: Margaret
Freebird Posted March 6, 2009 #18 Posted March 6, 2009 WOW...that is GREAT news Sqeeze. I had no idea you were going to be here putting up tents. It will be great to meet you in person.
Squeeze Posted March 6, 2009 #19 Posted March 6, 2009 WOW...that is GREAT news Squeeze. I had no idea you were going to be here putting up tents. It will be great to meet you in person. Ya know Don, i'm not going to be there. I'm very sad about that, but i think i will have to hand that Job over to the Folks present and experienced with Tents. I think there's a Guy who owns and runs the Red Roof Inn, he might be the one somebody needs to talk to. Beside that, i figure you didn't want to read the fine Print ?? :rotf:
Squeeze Posted March 6, 2009 #20 Posted March 6, 2009 On a second Thought, and seriously, we do that all the Time. When travelling with a Vmax, Space is VERY limited. So, you just pack your big Stuff and send it over to someone who's getting there by Car or even to the Hoster's Adress. Put some Tape into the Parcel to repack it when your going home on Sunday and there's allways somebody who can send it back to you. A Friend of mine travelled whole Germany two Years ago and had sent 4 Parcels on his Way to different Locations. Much easier than packing up everything on the Bike each and every Day. That's what 'Logistic' is meant to be.
mini-muffin Posted March 6, 2009 #21 Posted March 6, 2009 Beside that, i figure you didn't want to read the fine Print ?? :rotf: He probably went back and read the fine print after I agreed with you. So It's my fault. Guess I shouldn't have said anything and Don may never have noticed. :rotf: Margaret
Squeeze Posted March 6, 2009 #22 Posted March 6, 2009 He probably went back and read the fine print after I agreed with you. So It's my fault. Guess I shouldn't have said anything and Don may never have noticed. :rotf: Margaret What's wrong on here lately ?? First we have lots of Folks changing their Nicks(Cubaru to name one of them), then that bad Unsnarley Bill Imposter on the Site, now it's Mini "admitting a Fault" ??? I think this has to stop ! Soon !! NOW, to be precise !!! You've done nothing wrong Mini, so no need to jump into the Fire.
mini-muffin Posted March 7, 2009 #24 Posted March 7, 2009 How did I get in this? 'Cause your such a sweetie Dan. Thanks Squeeze just didn't want you taking all the blame on that one. Margaret
