tinystar Posted March 3, 2009 #2 Posted March 3, 2009 Way to go Gary, you'll make it. How are you feeling otherwise? Are you getting used to the cocktail they have you drink? Watching the guys drink that at work, I'll stick to my fruit juice and water. Take care. GOD BLESS JODEE
1BigDog Posted March 3, 2009 #3 Posted March 3, 2009 Sounds great Gary. Just enjoy the ride and stick to the basics and it will all come into place for ya. Hang in there. It gets better each day.
Squidley Posted March 3, 2009 #4 Posted March 3, 2009 Good on ya Gary, keep right at it and you'll get better everyday. Once you can start working out you'll get stronger and feel better
DragonRider Posted March 3, 2009 #6 Posted March 3, 2009 Keep up the good work, I have a good friend who had the surgery a little over a year ago, he started out at 500+ lbs, he is down to about 225 now. the first week I lost 44 pounds , after my stomach surgery..(mostly water, but it works for me). down to 355 pounds now.. how far can i go? but it will slow down from here out.. still cant tell it tho.
Marvin81 Posted March 3, 2009 #8 Posted March 3, 2009 I had the surgery in March 06 and I wouldn't change it for the world. I went from 284 to 170 in less than a year. I am 3 years out and am maintaining, currently at 171.6. It worked for me...it'll work for you. Keep up the good work brother. You'll feel better in the end. Keep us posted on your progress.
Grandpagak Posted March 3, 2009 Author #10 Posted March 3, 2009 thanx guys.. getting used to the portion size is the hardest.. but my stomach tells me when it has had enough.
Iowawegian Posted March 3, 2009 #11 Posted March 3, 2009 Congrats to you!!! Weight is something almost all of us struggle with. Glad to your doing better!
Ponch Posted March 3, 2009 #12 Posted March 3, 2009 I'm glad its working for you. You'll enjoy so much better health. I'm 2 1/2 years out from Gastric Band surgery. Lost a hundred pounds and am stable (physically not mentally). I still want to eat larger portions than I can, but the surgery limits that for me. Good Luck on ya Bro! Ponch
