Who Dey Posted February 27, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 27, 2009 I have 2 bikes, a 2007 Suzuki M109R and a 2008 Yamaha Venture. I bought the Suzuki because i fell in love with it's looks, speed, and power and i bought the Venture because my wife loves to ride also and she has some back issues, needed it for her comfort. I never dreamed that i would see the day that i owned a bagger but i have fell in love with the Venture. I didn't even know the Venture existed until a friend of mine bought one, rode it one time and was hooked. The Suzuki is an awesome machine but the comfort of the Venture makes me want to ride it everywhere i go.
BigBoyinMS Posted February 27, 2009 Share #3 Posted February 27, 2009 I bought a Road Star a year ago after 30 years of H-D's and liked it so much I decided I needed to get a bike for the two of us so I bought the Venture. Now I like the Venture so much I want to sell or trade my Road Star for a RSTD or another RSV so I can build it into a solo rider.

50btripn Posted February 27, 2009 Share #5 Posted February 27, 2009 (edited) currently have 2 bikes: 2002 Kawasaki ZZR-1200. Had a 1996 Suzuki Katana 750 (my first ever sportbike). I got my behind spanked one day by a girl on a ZX600, so the next day I traded up to the ZZR. Wanted lots of power (which it has definitely got), but also wanted to stay in the Sport-Touring class. Have enjoyed many "short" trips, no longer than 4 hours, but mainly this bike is a LOT of fun around town. 2007 Midnight Venture. I rode a 1993 1st Gen for work. This bike could not be destroyed. I was finally forced to retire it. In 2007, I went on my first ever motorcycle rally, Thunder Beach, in Panama City, Florida. There was a Midnight Venture on display. I took it for a test ride and was hooked. A friend of mine who was with me also bought one, so the dealer gave us a pretty good deal (we think) for the sale to both of us. Anywho, the RSMV is for my long distance travelling now. Edited February 27, 2009 by 50btripn
FJR Rider Posted February 27, 2009 Share #6 Posted February 27, 2009 (edited) Two currently, an 06 RSV and 07 FJR. I've had two bikes pretty much since 99; with a couple of times three in there. I'd like to add a third bike again, but more for something to work on than necessarily ride...fix or built it, ride it a little, then sell it. RSV is technically my wife's bike...I just operate it for her pleasure. She likes her "pleasure", so it gets ridden a lot and it's the only bike of the two I have set up for towing our cargo trailer or camper...and she likes to camp a lot too! FJR is my bike...I like sport bikes, but I also like having the hard bags, shaft drive, and a little larger bike. Present going in reverse: Present - 06 RSV and 07 FJR Fall 06 to Spring 07 - 99 RSV, 06 RSV, and 03 FZ1 Summer 03 to Fall 06 - 99 RSV and 03 FZ1 Spring 03 to Summer 03 - 95 Concours, 99 RSV, and 03 FZ1 Spring 99 to Spring 03 - 95 Concours and 99 RSV Spring 96 to Spring 99 - 95 Concours Summer 89 to Spring 96 - 82 Spectre 750 Big Break Spring 76 to Fall 77 - 76 750 SuperSport Spring 74 to Spring 75 - 72 550 Lemans Spring 73 to Spring 74 - 72 185 Enduro There's been some other odds and ends that have passed through my garage, both owned and loaned Some rideable, some not. spear Posted February 27, 2009 Share #12 Posted February 27, 2009 I haven't owned a hell of a lot of bikes in my days, but I've had enough between school, marriage, family, working 3 jobs, a mortgage and finally retiring. Started with an old Honda Dream on which I courted my wife at school - nearly 40 years ago. In later years after getting married and #1 son came along I ended up with a CB250 Honda twin. #1 loved riding on the tank - as you can see. Got rid of that around 1980 and bought a second-hand Yamaha 400 twin, that I can't seem to find any photos of. Don't think I had it long enough to photograph. Then there was a massive break until 1999 when I bought my dream bike - a 1972 Honda CB750/4. The motor had been worked to 836cc and it had a 4>1 exhaust system. Sounded awesome, but the paint job was crap. Acquired a near new 4>4 exhaust system, had the bike re-painted by a fellow CB750/4 owner and master spray painter and rode that for a few years. Decided to upgrade to an RSV, but the one the dealer said was due in for trade didn't arrive so I had to settle for a BMW R1150RT. Sold the 750/4 to a collector. Then a couple of years ago (about the time I joined this forum) I saw an ad on another forum I belong to where a guy wanted to swap his 2004 RSV for a BMW R1150RT. Could not believe my luck. We talked, we bartered and I bargained with him, and eventually gave him some cash and we swapped. We both won, but I got the better end of the deal. The shots attached show you a little of my bike ownership history. 1. My wife (then 18) on my Honda Dream. 2. Me and #1 son (now 30) on the CB250. 3. The 750/4 as I bought it but with a modified seat. 4. The 750/4 after I restored it. 5. The 750/4 with the new 4>4 pipes (before full restoration) 6. The BMW I bought because I couldn't get the Venture 7. Same girl as in photo 1 but with the latest bike. Love 'em both to bits! Been married 35 years this year. Kregerdoodle Posted February 27, 2009 Share #14 Posted February 27, 2009 man I like that M109R...that is one nice looking ride, sat on one but that was as much as the pocket book could handle. I have a `05 Shadow Aero ( pearl white / silver ) alot of fun to ride.. and my `01 RSV bark-o-lounger... the Honda is for sell, I want to build my own rat bike some day, if we all make it through all the changes... Dano Posted February 28, 2009 Share #18 Posted February 28, 2009 Just have my 84 Standard maroon and the old trusty Yammi IT400 (77) that I knock around in the woods on. It's truly the first indestructable bike I've ever owned! I've had it since 92 and only had to rebuild it once! Dan

scotty Posted March 3, 2009 Share #21 Posted March 3, 2009 My very first bike was a home made thing with airplane tires and a lawnmower engine. After a few incidences, (not equipped with brakes) I got a 100 enduro. When I turned 16 and got my licence I got a yamaha 250 exciter. I dated a hot cutie on that bike. Currently on loan to my brother in law is my 550 maxim. I married a hot cutie on that bike. The kawasaki vulcan has been sold. The last 2 years has been my 84 VR. I took a hot cutie on our 20th anniversary on that bike.
