A new 270 Mill $ Sattilite, to monitor the exhaust output of your bike, went up the other day, but did not make it into orbit.

Latest news is that the cost of that failed bird was 300 million......looks like NASA is certainly doing its fair share to stimulate the economy with spending.:whistling:

It was made by Orbital in Tucson, Arizona

 

It was a "Taurus II" rocket, which has a six for eight mission success rate ..to date. :whistling:

On the serious Side, six out of eight isn't a really good Ratio, isn't it ? I Kind of wonder why they thrust such Adventures with such expensive Payload ? Ok, "expensive" is relative in Space Technology Terms, but i believe there must be some "cheaper" Payload out there to learn and achieve better Results ?
