Naked Rider Posted February 24, 2009 #1 Posted February 24, 2009 called the dealer and asked how much for brakes he told me $50 per hour and the brakes would cost $40 bucks and thats not the yamaha brand does that sound right or not?

I also included phone numbers where yuo can reach me if you need any help to walk you through it. Dont be afraid... it is a very simple task.. It's one of those things that after you do it you would say: Why heck there is nothing to it... However, There is one must have for me to help you, and that is... you must have clothes on... I cant help you if your going to try to install brake pads.... being a naked rider...

GeorgeS Posted February 24, 2009 #7 Posted February 24, 2009 If all you need is a new set of Pads, do it yourself, they are very easy to change!! Takes about 20 Min to change a set of pads. Thats assumeing the rest of your system is working OK. ???

No need to dress up for that Issue. :D

N3FOL Posted February 25, 2009 #12 Posted February 25, 2009 I change brake pads on my cars with calipers and/or drums. I've never done it on a motorcycle, but I would imagine it is similar.

Once you have changed your brake pads, you know how to do it. SO about ever other oil change you shouls swap the rear pads around to even out the wear. This will save you more $$$$$$$$ as one pad usulaly wears out faster than the other.
