6pak Posted February 22, 2009 #1 Posted February 22, 2009 Saw this last night. Outstanding movie. If you don't have a tear in your eye by the end of this, you have no heart. It makes you wonder, does the public really know what's happening as was suggested in the movie? :thumbsup2::thumbsup2:
Kregerdoodle Posted February 22, 2009 #2 Posted February 22, 2009 I got in on it late, but plan on catching the next veiwing... just that last part that I saw put a big lump in my throat, can`t wait to see the whole movie...
DragonRider Posted February 22, 2009 #3 Posted February 22, 2009 I got all teary eyed just watching the trailers...............:crying:

Blackjack Posted February 22, 2009 #7 Posted February 22, 2009 The gang at George and Bobbie's got to watch this last night after the bikes were all put up and done for the day. A quite extraordinary movie presented, I thought, in a very even-handed and unassuming way. Yes, I cried. A must see! TERRY
BuckShot Posted February 23, 2009 #8 Posted February 23, 2009 Saw it last night with the wife. Its a must watch.
painterman67 Posted February 23, 2009 #9 Posted February 23, 2009 there was 7 or 8 of us at the sleeperhawk household watching this movie and I'm not ashamed to say I cried. Sitting along aside a few others who did too. Great movie and well done by all involved. If you haven't seen this you should. David
Sleeperhawks Mechanic Posted February 23, 2009 #10 Posted February 23, 2009 It is a must-see movie; it touched my heart so deeply. Only a heart of cold stone could watch it and not shed a tear. It was good to share with our Venture Family. Thank you, George, for recording it for us.
skydoc_17 Posted February 23, 2009 #11 Posted February 23, 2009 Jean and I saw this movie last night and burned up a half a box of tissues before it was over. My father was a Marine, but did not die in action. I had no Idea the military went to such lengths for their KIA's. It made us feel proud to be Americans, first time in a while. YOU Must see this movie! Earl and Jean
Sling Posted February 23, 2009 #12 Posted February 23, 2009 Peggy and I watched the movie, and yes you have to have a heart of stone to not be affected by the movie. Side note : When a fallen Hero is returned home they are now transported from Dover by a private Air Carrier mostly Koletta airlines(sp?) and they are carried in the cabin of the aircraft..No more in the cargo compartment if it can be helped.
Dragonslayer Posted February 23, 2009 #13 Posted February 23, 2009 At Sleeperhawks, George had the foresight to TiVo it so we could all watch it before crashing at his house during the SC and North Ga combined monthly M & E, this past weekend. I had one hand over my heart and a tear running down my cheek.
MikeM8560 Posted February 24, 2009 #14 Posted February 24, 2009 (edited) Wow just saw it tonight. a tear on my cheek and a lump in my throat. Edited February 24, 2009 by MikeM8560
Guest Oldsalt Posted February 24, 2009 #15 Posted February 24, 2009 I watched last night based on the comments on this forum. I had mixed emotions. My first and foremost was this sure wasn't the way I and others who came back from Viet Nam (both as individuals and as escorts were treated. Was sure glad to see we are making progress in this arena. My second gut feeling was this seem to be a movie that tore at the heart of former service members (especially those with combat experience), but I was left wondering if today's non-vet would be so affected. Lastly, I was impressed with Beacon's (sp) squared away Marine presentation. He had some moves down so well that it was hard at times to remember that he was an actor. Yea, I had to go get a kleenex too. oldsalt

Bigfoot Posted February 24, 2009 #18 Posted February 24, 2009 Is the title actually Taking Chance? I don't have HBO so I'll have to ask someone to record it for me at work.
BoomerCPO Posted February 24, 2009 #19 Posted February 24, 2009 Is the title actually Taking Chance? I don't have HBO so I'll have to ask someone to record it for me at work. Yes that is the actual title of the movie. At the HBO website the movie can also be purchased.
