I'm planning an escape from the Frozen Tundra and was messing around on weather.com looking for a weather window to plan my escape.. I found the Interstate Forecast feature which is nice but it gives temps in various cities all at the same time of day... But if you select Option 2 you enter your leaving city and can add cities at the time of day you're going through them.

 

It's snowing here Mon. but Tues. is cold and clear... I'm hoping the Main roads are clear of ice & snow by Wed. cuz Thurs & Fri another snowstorm coming through. So I got one chance to get out of here this week. I'm going to FL for Daytona Bike Week.

 

I had to mess with the formatting to post it here... It's actually easier to read on the weather. com website... I think it's java or something... Anyhow here's what my trip is looking like...

Be careful coming thru the DC area at the wrong time of day. If it's a weekday you'll want to be stopped for the night or thru the area completely by 4PM at the latest. Or wait until 730-8PM to come thru. Even then you're taking big chances if you're using I95.

Thanks Guys for the well wishes and info... Yeah I'm very familiar with DC traffic... I worked down there last year for about a month... I'm more concerned with getting over the GW Bridge before 3 o'clock... Cuz I don't wanna be sitting in the Bronx... If I can't make before 3 I'll probably skip Jersey all together and go through the Poconos...

Thanks for the weather report. I hope the following day will be as nice. My brother and I will be taking the same trip starting Friday the 27th. Trailering the bikes down to Columbus, SC and then riding in to Daytona from there. We'll be there from 2-28-09 through 3-7-09. This will be my first time in Daytona and my first real trip with the RSV. I can't wait to get away from this NY snow and cold.
