Condor Posted February 19, 2009 #1 Posted February 19, 2009 I just noticed that there are a bunch of 2ndGens on Ebay right now. Quite a few more than normal. On the other hand 1stGen listings have almost dried up. I guess the economy is taking it's toll for those that are stroking payments. Tough times.... Scary times........
GG54172 Posted February 19, 2009 #2 Posted February 19, 2009 It's pretty normal for motorcycle sales to ramp up early Feb to Late March. People start cleaning out their garages and realize they don't plan on riding much this year. Prices are always highest late winter to early spring. I always tell people to hold their bike until the first week fo march for the best ebay sale price. That being said, every single bike on eBay right now is already higher than the price I paid for mine. Gives me a nice warm fuzzy feeling...

gradona Posted February 23, 2009 #11 Posted February 23, 2009 So What's a good price for a 2006 w/10,000 miles? I'm lookin at one on Ebay right now.
GG54172 Posted February 23, 2009 #12 Posted February 23, 2009 So What's a good price for a 2006 w/10,000 miles? I'm lookin at one on Ebay right now. Great price? less than 11,500 Good price: 11,500 to 12,500 Reasonable? 12,500 to maybe 14,000, but you can get a brand new 2009 OTD for about $16,200 right now. I was looking at the paperwork from my 01 yesterday, the bike sold brand new for $16,500....

What ever you willing to bid on it up to Kelly Bluebook value......... Right now it's a buyers market. Let your conscience be your guide.... Just looked at it and it's sitting at $9,600, and the reserve hasn't been met. Kelly trade in is $8,200, and the suggested dealer retail is $11,500. In this market $10,500 is about right, but I bet the reserve is closer to retail.... Edited February 23, 2009 by Condor
gradona Posted February 23, 2009 #14 Posted February 23, 2009 Thanks! The Auction ends in about 2 hours. I'm gonna bid up to 11K and let the chips fall where they may. It's gonna cost me about $500 to have it shipped if I win. If it were warmer I'd just fly and ride.

It's a nice looking bike.

gradona Posted February 23, 2009 #19 Posted February 23, 2009 I went over what I wanted to and still didn't hit the Reserve. If he wants to sell it bad enough he'll contact me.

gradona Posted February 23, 2009 #21 Posted February 23, 2009 I just got a "2nd Chance" Offer from the seller. My high bid was $11,300. They are offering to let me have it for $12,300. WOW, What a bargain:rotf:. Even if I thought it was a good offer I would turn it down because of their arrogance.
gradona Posted February 23, 2009 #22 Posted February 23, 2009 BTW, Here was my response to them: "Thank You for the 2nd chance offer but the $11,500 was my best offer. I have to take into consideration that it will cost me upwards of $600 to have the bike shipped. Good luck with the Auction."

WOW, What a bargain:rotf:. Even if I thought it was a good offer I would turn it down because of their arrogance. That's a crock!! Usually second chance offers are for your high bid. Tell 'm to stick his head in a very dark place.... Wish you had reminded them of the economy and the blue book value in your response. I've gotten a few 2's over the years, I usually ask them to sell it to me at my high bid...before....their shill pumped up the bidding... Never have heard back on one of them.. That's one of the things I don't like about this secret ID bidding. A seller can have a buddy toss in bids, and if it doesn't go over the reserve there's no end user fees to pay. I think ebay is helping the dishonest sellers....

Check out the classifieds or email me with any questions or offers. Crash, I gave your info to a friend of mine that has been looking for awhile. He's been trying to get my 05 Silver from me for years. Although I just wrecked mine. Insurance didn't total it, but if they did, I was going to be knocking on your door. Anyway, I hope he contacts you and you guys can make a deal. Price is right for a beautiful bike. Would you consider selling the trailer seperately? Chris
