Guest skunk328 Posted July 24, 2007 #1 Posted July 24, 2007 Has anyone ever noticed this.... If I have the CB turned on with my 2006 Midnight Venture and I hit the horn, the horn plays through the speakers and not the horn itself! Bit of a safety issue, I would think... Anyone else have this problem? Skunk328
Squidley Posted July 24, 2007 #2 Posted July 24, 2007 Me thinks there might be a problem there....I have never heard of that one before
Freebird Posted July 24, 2007 #3 Posted July 24, 2007 I've heard of it and experienced it. Not uncommon. Mine does it also but I've never tried to figure out why. I seldom use the horn so haven't worried about it.
sarges46 Posted July 25, 2007 #4 Posted July 25, 2007 You should hear what it sounds like with headsets on! I do know that it blasted out the horns as well.....cause the lady that was coming to visit my lane (with me beside her) sure stopped and turned just enough for me to miss her when I blasted! Ft.Collins close call.
Black Ice Posted July 25, 2007 #5 Posted July 25, 2007 Yes, I've noticed it also when the CB is on. Similarly, I don't use the horn that much and haven't worried about it. I can vouch for Sarges working in Ft Collins cause I was almost beside hime when she cut over and he had to use it.
Guest skunk328 Posted July 25, 2007 #6 Posted July 25, 2007 LOL... I thought I had a "unique" problem! I went to blast a guy who almost sideswiped me on the 401 and was sure surprised when the horn came through my speakers! Thanks all. Skunk328
V7Goose Posted July 25, 2007 #7 Posted July 25, 2007 The horn is actually working fine - the noise in the speaker is just an anomoly. Goose
dfitzbiz Posted July 25, 2007 #8 Posted July 25, 2007 Check out the volume on the intercom. I run mine about 7 or 8. At 15 I can hear the engine and wind noise. The mike is always open and could be picking up the horn. The higher the volume the more the back ground noise.
Dusty Posted July 25, 2007 #9 Posted July 25, 2007 Normally don't use the horn, but we were at a wedding last Saturday. About 14 bikes including the bride and groom road from the outdoor wedding to the reception hall. Lots of horn blowing as we came back into town. Both my wife and I could hear the horn through the headsets. I new it would do that, but forgot to tell the wife that she would hear it through her new headset...she knows now!
