Mikealiasmike Posted February 17, 2009 #1 Posted February 17, 2009 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090217/ap_on_bi_ge/sirius_liberty Looks like if your subscribing to Sirius satellite radio, you'll be fine. I was glad to see this since I still have about 6 months left. God Bless, Mike
timgray Posted February 17, 2009 #2 Posted February 17, 2009 I hope so. I've been hedging bets and buying their stock like candy with it so low. If they come out of this I'll have enough money to buy me a whole fleet of near new 1st gens!
Mikealiasmike Posted February 17, 2009 Author #3 Posted February 17, 2009 Well just remember where you heard it first. Don't have to shoot the messenger on this one but a cold beer is always appreciated and welcomed :rotf:Mike
royalstarjac Posted February 17, 2009 #4 Posted February 17, 2009 I love Sirius! I have it in the car and on the bike, plus at home thru dish network. I can't figure out why they are doing so poorly. To me it's well worth the money over regular commercial filled radio.-Jack

To me it's well worth the money over regular commercial filled radio.-Jack By what I read, the reason they are struggling financially is the mulitmillion dollar contracts they gave Howard Stern, Martha Stewart, etc. They were on track to get back in good financial shape, but recent economic conditions have hampered that. The reason they are considering filing bankruptcy is that it will allow them to get out of some of the contracts with Stern and others. Anyway, this is the way I understood the information I have been able to come up with.

Just go ahead and say what you mean Bill.. I'll have to say I agree with you. I don't understand why anyone would listen to him.
edger Posted February 18, 2009 #11 Posted February 18, 2009 I love this part " Sirius will use the proceeds of the loan to repay $171.6 million of its maturing 2-and-a-half percent convertible notes that had been due Tuesday. The rest will be used for general corporate purposes. " Just another term for Top Exec. Bonus payouts!
