OutlawRider Posted February 15, 2009 #1 Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) I have an 08 RSV G2. It has the stock pillow style seat. I was thinking of putting the RSV seat that is not a pillow. Does anyone know if it is a lower style seat. I only have 30 inch in seam and I have a little trouble sitting on the seat and pushing the bike back any incline. Thanks for the help. MoRiverRat Posted February 15, 2009 #2 Posted February 15, 2009 I switched my 99 RSV to a Corbin seat. I have the stock seats, non-pillow top. The stock seat is taller than the Corbin seat. if you go to one of the meet and eats, someone will let you try out their non-stock seat.
pegscraper Posted February 16, 2009 #3 Posted February 16, 2009 Are you referring to the seat that Y used on the midnight bikes? Yes, it will set you a little lower in the bike than the pillow top seat.
RedRider Posted February 16, 2009 #4 Posted February 16, 2009 You may want to shoot an email to Rick Butler - our resident seat modification expert - and see what he can do. It may be possible to shave some off the sides that will allow you to get you legs on a more direct path to ground. There is a noticable difference in comfort between the stock and pillow top. If you want to change out the pillow top, let me know and I may want to purchase your pillow tops - if the price is right. However, check with Rick first. May be the least expensive, and best, solution. Good luck. RR
M61A1MECH Posted February 16, 2009 #5 Posted February 16, 2009 There are a couple of seats just listed in the classified section, one Corbin and one Russel.
pegscraper Posted February 16, 2009 #6 Posted February 16, 2009 That Russel Day Long seat looks interesting. So micko, the seller, is dumping both the Russel and a Corbin Dual Tour seat. I wonder what he's using now.
Roadhand Posted February 16, 2009 #7 Posted February 16, 2009 Since you stated a noticable difference in comfort between the stock and pillow top which one is the more comfortable for the long haul? I have read a hard seat allows for you to move around a little more thus a little more comfortable than a soft seat. I have the Rick Butler mod on my pillowtop and he made a big difference in the way it sits for a long day. As always, seats depend on the persons opinion.
Color01 Posted February 16, 2009 #8 Posted February 16, 2009 if you want .. We can trade the seats incl: the passenger backrest .. I have the Midnight Venture seat with the chrome Studs.
