Midrsv Posted February 9, 2009 #1 Posted February 9, 2009 I check my oil about once a week when I am just riding around locally and daily when I'm on a long trip. I've never had to add oil on either of my RSVs or my Vstar 1100. It never moves off the mark. I was just wondering if anyone ever has to add oil between oil changes? DT
tazmocycle Posted February 9, 2009 #2 Posted February 9, 2009 i've had 7 yamahas and never had to add oil to any of them between changes. they may use a little but has never been enough to need to add any.
KiteSquid Posted February 9, 2009 #3 Posted February 9, 2009 I have never had to add oil to any of my bikes between oil changes, except for my 1950 H-D FL... but that was before I changed it over to a belt primary.
Mariner Fan Posted February 9, 2009 #4 Posted February 9, 2009 I haven't and to be honest, I never check. That could bite me someday....

Grandpagak Posted February 10, 2009 #10 Posted February 10, 2009 CHECK THE OIL??? how do you do that?? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: just kidden.
barend Posted February 10, 2009 #11 Posted February 10, 2009 I've got some oil coming from somewhere and thought it isn't much I had the oil level drop to the full mark (yes it was slightly overfilled) Also had the indicator light come on while driving. So yes, I added some oil and my oils warning light is now not continuously on. Added maybe 10 Oz FWIW: CMU was checked and fixed and the connection at the oil sensor seems to be tight. Maybe th sensor itself is on its way out.
GunnyButch Posted February 10, 2009 #12 Posted February 10, 2009 Never had too add any either. It did mark it's spot in the garage one time when the oil was overfilled and that got my attention right away.
Sylvester Posted February 10, 2009 #13 Posted February 10, 2009 Nope, me neither. I rarely check it, but whenever I do it is perfect.
