awsmsrv Posted July 22, 2007 #1 Posted July 22, 2007 Those of you who have installed your SH: What percentage did you program into it? Would the recommended -5.5% be good enough? Are they all (RSV) off the same amount? Thanks.
gibvel Posted July 22, 2007 #2 Posted July 22, 2007 I think mine calibrated out to -6.5 and I think Don mentioned, in another post that his was something like -7 so, no, they're not all the same. However, I may have to re-calculate because I did it at 80 and they say, in the instructions, to get the reading at 60. But, yes, -5.5 sounds like it's feasible and could very easily be correct for your bike.
Freebird Posted July 22, 2007 #3 Posted July 22, 2007 I've actually found 7.5% to be pretty much dead on. I started there because that is what the guy who wrote the instructions had ended up with and I found it to be correct. I've also ridden with a lot of other folks on the RSV and we seemed to always be about the same percentage off. I would start with 7.5% first.
eagleeye Posted July 22, 2007 #4 Posted July 22, 2007 Are you guys talking, 2nd generation speedos? My 86 has always seemed to be off by about 7% I figure. Where can I get info on this speedohealer? Steve

Steve egleeye, yes, we are talking 2nd gen speedos. This unit will not work on the 1st gens as they have a mechanical speedo and the 2nd gens. have an electronic speedo. However, you can find out more info on the Speedo Healer here: http://www.speedohealer.com/eng/intro.htm
V7Goose Posted July 23, 2007 #6 Posted July 23, 2007 Based on many days riding and comparing actual GPS reported speed with my 05 RSV, my speedometer is about 9% fast. Goose
