Virus 360

My wife got virus 360 on her laptop. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

I don't know for sure, but I recently got AntiVirus 2009, and was successful eliminating it with Malwarebytes.

Download the Malwarebytes program onto a thumb drive etc from an uninfected machine. Shut off your wife's computer and restart in safe mode with networking. With networking should allow the MW program to access the internet for updates before it starts running. Load the program and install it from the thumb drive.Choose the scan that does the most complete job. Such as all of c:\ Hopefully this will allow it to remove the S.O.B. Then run Spybot S and D for good measure.

 

To get to safe mode, hit the F8 key right before the Starting Windows comes up. You might need to try a few times to hit it. Just start tapping F8 repeatedly - it wont hurt a thing.

 

It took me a few hours to clean one of these critters off of a members machine one afternoon. I ended up going in manually and cleaning the Registry.
