I've seen posts that say " if the wind deflectors aren't touching the shock, the brackets will break". How do I adjust them??? On the right side, I can put my finger between the rubber bumper and the shock. The left is closer...but not touching. Thanks again. you folks are the BEST!!!

If you haven't modified anything then you should be able to gently bend the brackets so that they touch. There should be rubber bumpers on the back of the brackets. Are yours there?

Yes they are.... and I have the passing lamps installed.....Don't know if that matters or not:confused24:. By the way....your articles in the tech section helped me do some mods this winter!! Thanks!!:clap2:

Thanks...I can't take credit for all of them though. Many were done by other members and I simply formatted and posted them. :)

Now, the passing lamp installation did not cause mine to not touch. You should be able to bend them slightly so that they just barely touch. Watch those brackets though, they do tend to break. You can usually see a crack starting in the bend. Yamaha will replace them if they break while your bike is under warranty but after that, you are better off buying the SS setup from Diamond R Accessories.
