FROG MAN Posted February 7, 2009 #1 Posted February 7, 2009 It looks like a nice weekend. I'm going to clean out the chimney flue in the camp living room and install that new wood stove tomorrow. Any luck at all and I'll be camping tomorrow night. MamaMo is already talking about planting roses and apple trees. I think spring is coming soon.I even thought about buying a new battery for the 89. Must be catching spring fever.Highs tomorrow close 60.
Redneck Posted February 7, 2009 #2 Posted February 7, 2009 I hate to tell you this but that's not camping that's a trip to you private resort. Have a good time.
BoomerCPO Posted February 7, 2009 #3 Posted February 7, 2009 Temps in the 60's ?............ Boomer...........still slipping and sliding on ice.
FROG MAN Posted February 7, 2009 Author #4 Posted February 7, 2009 Redneck I remember sleeping under a leanto in November with snow all around and half froze. I decided to move up a little. Squirrels on the porch and an 8 pt buck looking in the window. An old skunk keeps digging up MamaMo's cactus plants on the porch to. So it is still camping.
Snaggletooth Posted February 7, 2009 #5 Posted February 7, 2009 Boomer.........I'm developing a deep concern for you. My ex started talking in the 3rd person and shall I say.........I don't think she has gotten used to that fancy long sleeved jacket the nice people at the "resort" gave her to wear. However, I do find your comments much more amusing than hers. Mikey likes it.
Reed Posted February 7, 2009 #6 Posted February 7, 2009 I will get to do that when summer comes on the 2rd of july & goes on the 6th of july!
ToRide1 Posted February 7, 2009 #7 Posted February 7, 2009 We hit 50F today at my end of the state and you say it will go to 60 tomorrow, I'm going riding.
Redneck Posted February 7, 2009 #8 Posted February 7, 2009 I remember sleeping on the ground with a cheap sleeping bag with 4 inches of snow on top of it we couldn't afford a leanto and there wasn't much sleeping going on just a lot of shivering while waiting for sun rise. Those were the good old days.
WilCruise Posted February 7, 2009 #9 Posted February 7, 2009 Last year on the way to Don's maint day I packed up the MC trailer and left VT (stopped at Americade first) at about 3AM in the midst of a downpour @ about 40 degrees (F) and not 3 hours later there was literally steam coming off of me because of the heat when I was leaving NY state. The elements can be a challenge, but there's something invigorating about being out in them and experiencing the evolution of the change on the bike. Funny thing though, the older I get the more I like to reflect on those times rather than experience them again.
FROG MAN Posted February 7, 2009 Author #10 Posted February 7, 2009 I enjoy that old house. I'm practicing the retired life on the weekends. At least I can dream about it but Monday is coming.

Boomer.....who is grateful he does not have a Pond Monster to contend with.....and is too fast for the guys in white coats to get caught.
