Is it just me?

When I post to someone and am waiting for an answer. I have to back out of the post and go to another than go back into the post I posted to and than I can see a new post. Is it just me and some sort of a setting I need to make happen? In other words, I can't receive any new post if I don't get out and come back to the same post.

That is the way it works for me. It refreshs when you back out and go in again. Try hitting refresh and see what it does.

After I post,I wait for my post to show up and then hit the new posts button and go from there.I guess it kind of refreshes it.

Yup, 90% sure it's a refresh thing. I go to the top of the page and hit the "UserCP" link. If my post is dark there's been a reply. If not, then I move on to new posts or a forum or something.
