scott55 Posted February 4, 2009 #1 Posted February 4, 2009 I just took out the battery and charged it. When I put it back in the radio doesn't play through the front speakers. I can barely hear it from the right rear speaker even up at max vol level. My bike is the 2000 venture mm.
Freebird Posted February 4, 2009 #2 Posted February 4, 2009 Are you absolutely SURE that you didn't somehow switch it to headsets?
Sleeperhawk Posted February 4, 2009 #3 Posted February 4, 2009 Definitly sounds like he has the head set turned on. Rear speakers still have sound when head set turned on.
WARider Posted February 4, 2009 #4 Posted February 4, 2009 Mine changed from the speakers to the headset output when I took my battery out. If you have it going through the headsets and you turn up the volume loud enough you can just barely hear it from the back like you are hearing. I would check to make sure the output in on SP and not HS.
hayes Posted February 4, 2009 #5 Posted February 4, 2009 I developed the same problem yesterday only I left the key on acc. overnight and ran the battery dead. After that I had no speakers. The book says you should press the select button for 2 seconds or less and it will cycle through Speaker, headset, bass, treble, exc. Only mine skips speakers and goes straight to headset and then bass. No speaker. I figure I'll keep playing with it and figure it out, but if anybody can help I'd appreciate it. Dennis
scott55 Posted February 5, 2009 Author #6 Posted February 5, 2009 I think you are right I went back and it does have the headset icon on the display. I've tried to cycle it through to sp but it won't come back on.
RoadKill Posted February 5, 2009 #7 Posted February 5, 2009 I think you are right I went back and it does have the headset icon on the display. I've tried to cycle it through to sp but it won't come back on. When you first turn the radio on, push Audio, then down on the toggle, it should then say sp. That should do it.
Freebird Posted February 5, 2009 #8 Posted February 5, 2009 Roadkill is correct of course. You cannot scroll through and find HS and SP...it will only show one or the other. When you see HS, hit the toggle/rocker switch to swap to SP.
hayes Posted February 5, 2009 #9 Posted February 5, 2009 Thanks Roadkill and Freebird. Just went out and followed your instructions. It took two seconds. Dennis
scott55 Posted February 5, 2009 Author #10 Posted February 5, 2009 Also thanks I just went out and it worked. Sometime the simple things are the hardest to make work
