I just took out the battery and charged it. When I put it back in the radio doesn't play through the front speakers. I can barely hear it from the right rear speaker even up at max vol level. My bike is the 2000 venture mm.

Mine changed from the speakers to the headset output when I took my battery out. If you have it going through the headsets and you turn up the volume loud enough you can just barely hear it from the back like you are hearing. I would check to make sure the output in on SP and not HS.

I developed the same problem yesterday only I left the key on acc. overnight and ran the battery dead. After that I had no speakers. The book says you should press the select button for 2 seconds or less and it will cycle through Speaker, headset, bass, treble, exc. Only mine skips speakers and goes straight to headset and then bass. No speaker. I figure I'll keep playing with it and figure it out, but if anybody can help I'd appreciate it.

I think you are right I went back and it does have the headset icon on the display. I've tried to cycle it through to sp but it won't come back on.

When you first turn the radio on, push Audio, then down on the toggle, it should then say sp. That should do it.

Roadkill is correct of course. You cannot scroll through and find HS and SP...it will only show one or the other. When you see HS, hit the toggle/rocker switch to swap to SP.
