Sideoftheroad Posted February 4, 2009 #1 Posted February 4, 2009 Anyone make your own flag pole holder for the trunk rack? This would be for the small flags like around 6" x 10". Share your ideas. I am looking at them, but I am a cheapskate and don't like to spend the $$ for the ones out on the market. Also there is at least one that I know of (maybe Kuryakyn) that a friend of mine has. Everytime he rides it doesn't stay in place
BigBoyinMS Posted February 4, 2009 #2 Posted February 4, 2009 This may help you... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3680&highlight=flag+mount
Sideoftheroad Posted February 4, 2009 Author #3 Posted February 4, 2009 Sounds like they had better luck with the poles not rotating on them at speed than my friend, but mounted very similar. Unfortunately I have a lack of tools and materials for something like this. I don't think I currently have any way to cut an aluminum block let alone to know where to get some. Good job on those though. I think there is even someone on e-bay that sells this type of setup too. More idea?
davecb Posted February 5, 2009 #4 Posted February 5, 2009 I haven't looked in a while, but I bought mine at Star Touring and Riding for $25.00 each.....

Aimhigh Posted February 5, 2009 #6 Posted February 5, 2009 Thanks for the posting on how to make the flag staff...here is a link for proper placement if you decide to have more flags mounted. http://www.usa-flag-site.org/forum/u-s-flag-etiqette-on-motorcycle-890.html
Sideoftheroad Posted February 6, 2009 Author #7 Posted February 6, 2009 Thanks for the link. I knew Ole' Glory needs to be at the highest point. I will check w/ Beer30 to see if he has any of those mounts. Thanks
