Most manufacturers calculate a 'sale' as the time when a dealer takes delivery, not when the consumer buys it. A bit misleading. And since they seem to bundle all the tiny little scooters, dirt bikes and such along with the larger street bikes, that can also seem to skew the results. I'm guessing that Honda sells more street, sport, and dirt bikes that we are used to seeing here in the states. Thats just a guess though.

That is interesting. I know a few years ago Honda and Harley combined had 50% of the motorcycle market. I wouldn't be surprised if Honda is slipping. They don't have the selection of cruisers that yamaha has. I have heard but can't confirm that the 1800 vtx hasn't had the sales honda expected. If honda would put saddlebags and a windshield on the vtx like yamaha does on the vstar silverado I believe they would sell more bikes. Just my opinion and we all know an opinion is like a certain part of our anatomy. Everyone has one.

I looked at the Honda 1800 and liked it but the dealer told me I wouldnt be happy with it with what I wanted to do and was pushing the nomad pretty hard. I bought the RSV instead and so far love it.
