skydoc_17 Posted February 2, 2009 #1 Posted February 2, 2009 I found that the fuel line that goes from the fuel pump to the carbs. was crushed by the clip that holds the line back by the fuel pump when I was changing out the fuel filter. I tried to trace where this line goes, and followed it up the frame and then it disappeared under the battery box (which I have removed) and could not find the end of it. I would like to replace this line but can't figure where the other end is. Has anyone replaced this line? What's the trick to getting to it short of removing the engine? Why do they make this so hard?!?! I would be greatful for Any help or thoughts on this subject! Earl
Venturous Randy Posted February 2, 2009 #2 Posted February 2, 2009 On my 83, when you take the breather off it comes up to a fitting just under the gas tank lid where the lines seperate and go out to the carbs. I can not imagine why it would go up under the battery box. My line is not that long. RandyA
Dano Posted February 3, 2009 #3 Posted February 3, 2009 Same here, if you remove the air box, it comes just in front of the gas tank filler neck box. You'll only see a couple of inches of it. A rubber line with a braided cover over it. It's definately NOT long enough to pull a little back to cut out the bad spot. Not sure of an aftermarket replacement for it though. Hopefully this helps, Dan
GeorgeS Posted February 3, 2009 #4 Posted February 3, 2009 Remove the Air Cleaner Box, to get access to the connect point, on top, center of the 4 Carbs.
