barend Posted February 2, 2009 #1 Posted February 2, 2009 Had a great ride today, bike was running well, full tank w. seafoam, sunny, mild (that last for you guys up north). Ran about 125 miles and stopped before heading home for a fill up. No sense running the last 20 miles in the dark on the interstate with an estimated 25 mile range left. Problem is, she just didn't feel/sound right after the fill up, as in right away! RPM's seemed to be where they were supposed to be, she was running at speed, but seemed to lacking Oompf as well as sounding different. Maybe a bit more throaty? (even my wife noticed). Perhaps a sound similar to the turbo boost braking my (diesel)truck when I take my foot of the gas. Sure would like some suggestions as to what you guys might think about this. Thanks!!
GeorgeS Posted February 2, 2009 #2 Posted February 2, 2009 Maby some water in the gas at the fill up point. Try some HEET.
Cutty Posted February 2, 2009 #3 Posted February 2, 2009 Warm bike up, sitting on centerstand spray some water on each exhaust pipe near head and see which one(s) is the coolest. Check spark plug(s) on suspected cylinder(s).
Squidley Posted February 2, 2009 #4 Posted February 2, 2009 Maby some water in the gas at the fill up point. Try some HEET. That would be my guess also
Condor Posted February 2, 2009 #5 Posted February 2, 2009 Fowled plug. SeaFoam has a tendency to do that.... All the varnish has to go somewhere. Put in new plugs and I bet she'll fly again....
KiteSquid Posted February 2, 2009 #6 Posted February 2, 2009 (edited) HEET is NOT necessary as there is quite a bit of alcohol in the Sea Foam.... just not 99% like in HEET brand products. Also adding any additive to your fuel you will change the Octane, and BTU/LB figures, so it MIGHT change Edited February 2, 2009 by KiteSquid
GunnyButch Posted February 2, 2009 #7 Posted February 2, 2009 Just a thought but are you sure you didn't top off with diesel? It would still run but not as well. I don't want to admit how I know this.

barend Posted February 3, 2009 Author #9 Posted February 3, 2009 Definitely not diesel!1 Will admit to starting a fill up on the truck with regular though. I'll check on the plugs and drain fuel from reserve before adding Heet. thanks for the input!!
