barend Posted January 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 30, 2009 Is there or has there ever been a dipstick to use in the Mk1 instead of that *&%#@ sight window?
pegscraper Posted January 31, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2009 There's no room for a dipstick underneath the fill cap. It would hit the clutch.
Squidley Posted January 31, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 31, 2009 Nope...sight glass is all you got, be happy that the 1st gens have a center stand to check it on. The G2 doesn't have one and it makes for a fun time trying to do it by yourself

Black Owl Posted January 31, 2009 Share #7 Posted January 31, 2009 Yes there was a dip stick for the 1200 models. It was a dual purpose and used to check both the oil level and the final drive fluid level. It was plastic and came with the tool kit. I may have one around here somewhere. If I can find it, will post a pic with the dimensions .
