BoomerCPO Posted January 30, 2009 #1 Posted January 30, 2009 Is there an easy way to check/tighten the upper radiator hose clamp without having to tear a lot of stuff off the bike? Any tips regarding this is greatly appreciated! Regards.....Boomer....who suspects a very small coolant leak from the upper hose.
pegscraper Posted January 30, 2009 #2 Posted January 30, 2009 Just the seat and the tank. Shouldn't be too difficult.
dragerman Posted January 30, 2009 #3 Posted January 30, 2009 I would imagine that should be covered under warrantee, if so it might be an idea to have the dealer look at it so they can’t say you tampered with it if the problem turns out to be something else. Just a thought.
Sylvester Posted January 31, 2009 #4 Posted January 31, 2009 The clamps are very hard to get to. Let the dealer do it if you can. If not, you will need to remove the lower fairing, tank, seat, and neck covers. Then get an eyeball on a stick and flashlight and start searching. there are four clamps: filler conection and radiator at the upper hose, water pump and radiator at the lower hose. Have a 6mm socket and long extension in 1/4" drive and a long phillips screw driver available. Expect to leave a little blood around the floor from damaged fingers and keep small children away (bad language). These words from a wise old fart.
