CrazyHorse Posted July 20, 2007 #1 Posted July 20, 2007 I just got my superbrace today but it wont fit. Its the Venture model 1100 but I have a 1990 bike with brand new boots. It seems the superbrace wont go in there with the boots. Any hints?
GigaWhiskey Posted July 20, 2007 #2 Posted July 20, 2007 Boots? The SuperBrace fit right in on mine. The only rubber near ther eon mine are the rubber caps on top of the sleeves.
eagleeye Posted July 21, 2007 #3 Posted July 21, 2007 I don't know what boots you are talking about, but the super brace is a slip fit. In fact, if you cock it, it won't go. No room for anything else for sure. Steve

I think Yamaha changed how the fork boots mounted between years i was wondering if anyone with a 1990 and above had the same problem? I f I pull the boots up from their locked position it fits right in. See pictures.
cimmer Posted July 21, 2007 #5 Posted July 21, 2007 I have an 89 VR with the superbrace on it. It was a tight fit with out any boots as my bike didnt come with them as the 90's did. If you pull up the boot how do the holes line up. I would be tempted to pull the boots up and then attach the brace and then see if you can get the boots back into their proper place. Check and see what might need to be clearanced to make them fit properly. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Rick F.
kf_sk_mccall Posted July 23, 2007 #6 Posted July 23, 2007 Jimbob, Find a machine shop to modify the Superbrace. If you force it to fit you will ruin your fork seals and upper bushings. Ken
