KAWoodworth Posted January 27, 2009 #2 Posted January 27, 2009 Gee thanks Brian for sending the snow my way!! It's 6:42 AM here in Northern Virginia and the snow is coming down. Thank goodness they are only calling for 1 to 3 inches east of the Blue Ridge though. Hope you warm up soon.
Marcarl Posted January 27, 2009 #3 Posted January 27, 2009 Southern Onatrio,,, just a little cool today, as usual,, nothing much to write home about, could use a little snow seeing as it's cold anyways,, better now than in July.
Brian D. Posted January 27, 2009 Author #4 Posted January 27, 2009 You are welcome for the snow there in Northern Va., but really what saddens me the most is all the salt and grit they put on the road will take weeks to remove it from the roads extending the time that I can't get the midnight venture out!! To you all in Canda, hope you warm up soon and please send south! Be safe!! Brian D.
Squidley Posted January 27, 2009 #5 Posted January 27, 2009 I feel the pain...I haven't been on my bike but 1 time for 45 minutes since mid November
Marcarl Posted January 27, 2009 #6 Posted January 27, 2009 Now you went and did it, the forcast is for snow tonight and all day tomorrow, just think, you could have kept it all to yourself, but now we get some too,,, easy though, I got a Snoblower so I'll just blow it south,,,,,,,,,,,

Just talked to a friend on travel in DC and he said it was around 2.5 - 3 inches there but they are calling to turn to rain later. Catch you on the next M&E. MIKE aka Uturn
Yama Mama Posted January 28, 2009 #8 Posted January 28, 2009 Hey Brian, I am in the storm too. I was off school today, and more than likely I will be off tomorrow too. I did not go out at all today, I just enjoyed looking out the windows at all the white. It is more enjoyable if you are inside. Be careful. Yama Mama:snow2::snow2:
Brian D. Posted January 28, 2009 Author #9 Posted January 28, 2009 Yama Mama: I too was out of school today but our school system has us report on days we are closed so I was an hour on the road @ 7:30AM for the 20 mile drive. I did get alot done though and even posted grades on computor system and played with my smartboard. A rather uneventful day but a productive one. Of course my wife who teaches @ Hillsboro and my daughter enjoyed their day off by hanging around the house watching lifetime for women all day! What a life!! Glad you enjoyed your day off!! Brian D.
mraf Posted January 28, 2009 #10 Posted January 28, 2009 OH, the weather outside is frightful:yikes: NO, its not delightful:no-no-no: I'm so damned tired of this snow:snow: I can not wait till it goes! The cabin fever is gloomy:Sad_0241: This house is not so roomy:stickpoke: If I don't get out of here:Venture: My eyes will fill with tears. Thank you, thank you very much. Been cold here so long even my whiskers have whiskers.
Dano Posted January 28, 2009 #11 Posted January 28, 2009 6-12" for here, son can't wait to get out on the quad tomorrow! I played around a little tonite and cleared a couple driveways. It's fun runnin' down the road in 2wd with the plow on the front picking up the back tires enough to make it spin easy!
Mariner Fan Posted January 28, 2009 #12 Posted January 28, 2009 6-12" for here, son can't wait to get out on the quad tomorrow! I played around a little tonite and cleared a couple driveways. It's fun runnin' down the road in 2wd with the plow on the front picking up the back tires enough to make it spin easy! Yea, we are getting pounded here as well. The roads are a mess!
KAWoodworth Posted January 28, 2009 #13 Posted January 28, 2009 And if the 3 inches of snow wasn't enough yesterday in Northern Virginia we had freezing rain all last night. The roads looked like an ice skating rink this morning. Thank goodness for Chevy Silverado 4 wheel drive!!!!
Yama Mama Posted January 28, 2009 #14 Posted January 28, 2009 Brian, no school again today. I guess I have to continue cleaning the house. Yama Mama
Yammer Dan Posted January 28, 2009 #15 Posted January 28, 2009 Raining now with snow on the way they claim!! I have to do about 120 mile drive each day this week.
BoomerCPO Posted January 28, 2009 #16 Posted January 28, 2009 We are getting hit hard as well here. Listening to the Scanner.....folks refuse to slow down and are running into everything on our roads. Its going to be a long hard day for our State Troopers and Wrecker Operators out there. Boomer.........who has to behave cuz Momma is home today.
PBJ Posted January 28, 2009 #17 Posted January 28, 2009 Snows slowed down here in New Yawk. We've got 3-4 inches with another 6 expected by tomorrow morning. But all is calm now. Schools are cancelling evening activities.
RustyRecycledToy Posted January 29, 2009 #18 Posted January 29, 2009 I would have rather had snow than the ice we've had. Power has been out since midnight Monday. Glad I stocked up on gasoline over the weekend.Generators are wonderful things. The whole county is without power. Here's a picture of my place.
FROG MAN Posted January 29, 2009 #19 Posted January 29, 2009 We were lucky to keep power. My gen is gassed up and waiting. Our 911 center was down last night with no power.
