And bolts. Whats the best thing to loosen rusted and frozen nut and bolts??

I use Parts Blaster. Is there anything better?

Other things get frozen sitting on ground trying to replace wheel bearing in this weather.

Heat is realy good for frozen nuts. Both types... They expand...

I use "Movit" on my nuts works well, it really penetrates to where its needed, if heat is not available. :thumbsup2:

‘Anti seize’ lubricants generally have creeping agents that work the lubricants into tight spots. The longer you can let ‘your nuts’ soak the more effective it will be however sometime heat is the only answer.

I speak with experience on this matter :innocent:...you will be the one and only one to determine if you have enough in there. The trick is give it time and some :guitarist 2:.

Boy you said a mouthful there, kinda tough on you to not say something isn't it

Yammer,

use the trusty old blue wrench (torch) or some PB blaster, either works well

This sounds kind of nuts but I've been doing it for years. Works really well for smaller stuff anyway.

Take a can of compressed air, like Dust Off for cleaning computer, and hold it upside down and spray the nut until it's completly frosted over. Maybe repeat a couple of times until it's really cold to the touch. Then apply a little heat from a propane torch or a heat gun. I use a small butane torch to have better control of the heated area.

The rapid change from cold to hot really breaks it loose quick. I saw somewhere a whle back they were marketing a new product that you use for freezing nuts. About the same thing I imagine but you get to hold the can upright at about twice the cost of a can of compressed air.

Depending on size of bolts & nuts, Start with penetrating oil , let sit awhile

If they are small, take a hammer & punch & hit bolt in middle a few times

If its a nut use hammer & pin Punch & tap around the nut

Same goes for bigger ones , hammer the bolt , if you cant reach it, use a bigger punch

with the hammer.

I think this is the only time where size does matter
