ibents Posted January 22, 2009 #1 Posted January 22, 2009 (edited) Need a little advice, I have the pumpkin off and when I had it sitting on a slight angle oil was seeping out of the holes that can be seen in the pic...where the leaf stalk is....there is nothing coming from the outside of the coupling gear. So I was wondering if this is normal, I can't see any sort of seal being around that inner part on the exploded view of a diagram. Edited January 22, 2009 by ibents
pegscraper Posted January 22, 2009 #2 Posted January 22, 2009 Leaf stalk? I don't follow. I don't recall holes on the inside of the housing, but it's been a while since I've seen one. It may just be a bad seal. I had to replace the seal in mine in this area too.
ibents Posted January 22, 2009 Author #3 Posted January 22, 2009 The leaf stalk was just to show where the hole was, there is another hole right across from it. Ian
GeorgeS Posted January 22, 2009 #4 Posted January 22, 2009 If there is NO Heavy SAE-90, leaking from the pumpking past the Seal, nothing to worry about. The only lubricant inside the Drive Shaft houseing is Greese on the forward end of the drive shaft. Be sure to pull it out, and Greese the Spline.
