starriders777 Posted January 21, 2009 #1 Posted January 21, 2009 Hi it's been awhile sence i have been here, My question is who is the best way to remove the emblems saftly and on my "99" will i have the outline left. The paint dont look oxidized but you know you cant tell till there off. Any ideals ?
stvmaier Posted January 21, 2009 #2 Posted January 21, 2009 I think the best way is to use a piece of fishing line. Put it behind the emblem and move it back and forth in a sawing action to cut through the double sided tape. Clean the tape residue off w/wd40, wash and wax......all done!!

I did mine this way.....plus used the wife's hair dryer to "soften" the double-sided tape.
midnightventure Posted January 21, 2009 #5 Posted January 21, 2009 Blow dryer worked well for me. Softens the glue and they peel right off with no residue.
ken Posted January 22, 2009 #6 Posted January 22, 2009 Hair dry and the fish line is the best way to go! Just be ready with the goo gone to remove the double stick thats left behind.
