I use th PC-680 in the Venture, PC-545, in my Hyabusa, Absolutely no problems since installing them. I went thru 3 Yuasa Sealed Lead Acid batteries, before that, Junk in my opinion. However their latest models might be improved, I don't know.
Venturous Randy Posted January 21, 2009 #6 Posted January 21, 2009 I put the Odyssey 680 in my 83 back in the summer and have not one time been concerned about a hot start. I also went out in the garage Saturday morning with it 20 degrees and flipped the ignition on, flipped the emergency stop off and on several times to fill the carbs and then hit the starter. It started right up and idled smooth with the choke on. I was happy. And this is without any type charger hooked up. RandyA

lonestarmedic Posted January 25, 2009 #8 Posted January 25, 2009 The PC680 is an excellent choice. Also, pay attention to the battery cables, the fuse panel, the grounds, and the connections. Upgraded cables are available in the classifieds under 1st Gen. Worth the money and effort. Fuse panel is usually a bit worn out. The clips lose tension and the panel flexes. Upgrade to an ATC type panel. Clean all connections and grounds. Dont forget the starter button and the key switch. JB
bobcat Posted January 25, 2009 #9 Posted January 25, 2009 I bought a regular lead acid battery from a local battery shop... it cost about $45-$50...That was 5 years ago and my bike has never failed to start since.. Even though my hydrometer says this current battery is still good I'll buy a new one in the next couple of months..Getting 5 years out of a $50 battery is good enough for me.............
