Guest HdHtr Posted January 20, 2009 #1 Posted January 20, 2009 From what they tell me we are getting more snow than we've had in these parts in many years!! Started last night and it's still going!! Hopefully it'll be gone tomorrow!!
mini-muffin Posted January 20, 2009 #2 Posted January 20, 2009 Yep typical snow falls are in Jan or Feb. Of course this past year we had 2" in Nov before Thanksgiving. We're suppose to get anywhere from 3 - 6" here. I guess I need to get out now before we have any real snow. These folks down here are scary on the road. I can drive in snow but they can't. Margaret
Tatonka Posted January 20, 2009 #3 Posted January 20, 2009 You be careful there Margaret. We need you to keep us in line. God bless and keep safe.
mini-muffin Posted January 20, 2009 #4 Posted January 20, 2009 OK I won't go anywhere till tomorrow when the stuff is melting. Then I'll be safe and I can keep everyone in line. Not sure everyone will agree with you on me keeping anyone in line. Margaret

Margaret Down here where I am we don't usually get more than dust if anything at all and it's gone within an hour of the sun coming up! There's snowman material out there ... and it's getting colder as the front moves through. Neighbors say we haven't got this much snow in over 8 years!! I got out a bit ago, they don't plow the roads either!!
Cerviperus Posted January 20, 2009 #6 Posted January 20, 2009 From what they tell me we are getting more snow than we've had in these parts in many years!! Started last night and it's still going!! Hopefully it'll be gone tomorrow!!That looks about like what we've had in the past two days. Not even enough to break out my snow shovel.
mini-muffin Posted January 20, 2009 #7 Posted January 20, 2009 Nope they don't plow. Kinda a good reason to not go anywhere. And also makes it nice when the sun comes out later and melts it. Should all be gone by the weekend. Temps will be nice by friday. Jeff just called and they evidently let them go home early because of the snow and they'll be on a 2hr delay tomorrow. He works at Cherry Point (Marine base). Margaret
painterman67 Posted January 20, 2009 #8 Posted January 20, 2009 Hey mini. Is jeff riding the bike in this mess? BRRRRRR........ David
muffinman Posted January 20, 2009 #9 Posted January 20, 2009 Yup I rode the bike in today and yes I was the only one.But they would not let me ride it off the base so I got a ride from a friend that lives 1.2 miles from the Rv.He is going to give me a ride back in tomorrow. And yes I will take it for a ride before work in the morning. Jeff
mini-muffin Posted January 20, 2009 #11 Posted January 20, 2009 Well he has ridden in the snow in WV before too. Ask Skid I think he saw him that day. He's either a real biker or a crazy biker. But you'll have to wait till MD to decide for yourself. Others that have met him you know which he is.:rotf::rotf::rotf: Love Ya dear. Margaret
Color01 Posted January 20, 2009 #12 Posted January 20, 2009 they said yesterday, and this morning.. we would get 3"-6" of snow ...and 1 hour a go, they canceled the winterstorm warning . and this morning they closed all the schools and some business
mini-muffin Posted January 20, 2009 #13 Posted January 20, 2009 Yeah I'm thinking this is gonna be a bust as far as snow goes. It's still snowing here a bit, but the temps are up to 33 now. Nothing is sticking on the street and not much in the grass. Oh well just means it will melt faster. Margaret
