kbran Posted January 19, 2009 #1 Posted January 19, 2009 My son traded his Honda VTX 1800 for this Friday. I rode it yesterday. Wow this thing is fast and really likes the curves, but I don't like the bent over ride with the head back. Too old for this but it was fun. http://www.suzukicycles.com/images/ProductImages/colorVariations/500/GSXR1000K8_matteBlack_000000.jpg
PBJ Posted January 19, 2009 #2 Posted January 19, 2009 Pretty and fast but i don't understand why your butt has to be higher than your hands, I'd think a lower seat would be more aerodynamic.

Venturous Randy Posted January 19, 2009 #4 Posted January 19, 2009 My son has an FZ1 with an upgraded exhaust and has been rejetted that pulled 130hp on a dino off the rear wheel. I have ridden it a couple of times and it is a real trip when the RPM's start climbing. It takes about everything just to hang on. It has the handle bars that are higher than yours. RandyA

RandyA Randy, that's because the FZ1 is "whimped out" YZF-R1. The R1 has a similar Setup as a GSX-R. With an other upper Fork Yoke you can mount a normal Handle Bar to every Sportsbike and ride a little more upright.

Just found these for sports bikes http://www.convertibars.com/PhotogalleryVideos.cfm . Has anyone had any experience with these bars.

I have no Expirience with such extended Bars, but from my Point of View, I wouldn't trust those looooong Extensions. There's too much Leverage involved and if one of the Pinch Bolts let go .... OUUUUUCH !!!! There's a big Chance you won't complain to the Manufacturer, because you can not, anymore. Handlebar is an Safety Issue and i wouldn't take any Chances in these Matters.
