Sleeperhawk Posted January 18, 2009 #1 Posted January 18, 2009 I am looking at getting another helmet since my full face is getting to be 5 years old and the lining wore out. I prefer the full face all the time, but summer heat does get intense with stop and go traffic. So I clicked on a link on our website about this helmet. A little bit pricey but was wondering if any of you have seen or wore the helmet? Also, if I do get this, I am looking for a head set that that has slim boom mic, not flush mounted. The JM mics I have are way to big as far as I am concerned with this type of helmet. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/shark-evoline/dot/
N3FOL Posted January 18, 2009 #2 Posted January 18, 2009 J&M is working on a nice Nolan FF helmet with Bluetooth built in for the Venture. I am waiting for them to put it on the market per their email.
Squidley Posted January 18, 2009 #3 Posted January 18, 2009 Thats a pretty nice looking helmet George, I'm interested to hear if anyone has one
wild_thing Posted January 19, 2009 #4 Posted January 19, 2009 Great looking helmet, if you own a Sport Touring or Sport bike. Cons: Cost, cost, cost!!!!!!!!!!!! Too heavy!! I cannot... cannot justify the price on this or any comparable helmet. $150.00 is my limit. I hate helmets anyway. They block peripheral view, are bad for your hearing because of high decibels created by wind noise. They will however, protect your head in very low speed impacts. High speed impact accidents, helmets will do nothing. And if you break your collar bone, head swelling, paramedics or good Samaritans could cause you to be paralyzed when trying to remove a helmet with your head swollen. I wear a shorty when required by law to wear a helmet while riding. Easier to remove in case of accident and still protects your skull on low speed impacts. Just my opinion.

I cannot speak about the Helmet in Question here. But when did you have had your last Class about Helmets in general and Full Face Helmets especially ? Your Comments about the Properties of a Helmet are at least 10 Years old and need to be updated. I agree of the Weight of that Helmet is too heavy with almost 2000 Gramm. But other than this, Technology and Research made some Improvement in the last Decade. I think the Noise created by Wind and Speed aren't any higher than the Sound of Willie Nelson or any other Tune blarring out of the Speakers. Of Course, riding behind a big Screen will cause some Noise or Buffeting but this normal and you can't blame an specific Helmet to be noisy, while other Brands or Models are not when used by the same Rider.
