utadventure Posted January 17, 2009 #1 Posted January 17, 2009 Jan's bike was wrecked last summer. I've found a bike on Ebay that we are interested in getting but would like to see if someone could look at it for me. I've emailed the seller with some questions and a request for an address. Anybody help me? Dave
Pappa Bear Posted January 17, 2009 #2 Posted January 17, 2009 Hi, I'd been stationed in Beaumont since hurricane Ike, would have been glad to, but I just got sent home at christmas. I still have contacts there, maybe one could go look at it and report back? What kind of bike you looking at?
utadventure Posted January 17, 2009 Author #3 Posted January 17, 2009 The bike is a 2003 Kawasaki 750 with 22K miles. I don't have a specific location yet. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=160310031681

Yammer Dan Posted January 17, 2009 #8 Posted January 17, 2009 Not a bad looking bike. You should get someone to look or make sure you have option to turn it down if it isn't what you expect. Couldn't see anything wrong with it. You could get a nice 1st Gen for that.
Bob Myers Posted January 18, 2009 #9 Posted January 18, 2009 Dave, From experience with several friends who have VN750, you really don't want one of those for her. After 2000 models they are plagued with electrical gremlins, especially stator problems
utadventure Posted January 18, 2009 Author #10 Posted January 18, 2009 Thanks Bob - Good info to know!
LLonearth Posted January 18, 2009 #11 Posted January 18, 2009 Electrical gremlins plus potential water damage from Hurricane Ike mean a very thorough examination is in order. Beaumont isn't that far from Galveston.
