RoadKill Posted January 23, 2009 #101 Posted January 23, 2009 Can't remember where I posted but with Weight Watchers I'd lost 12 pounds through yesterday!!
Ponch Posted January 23, 2009 #102 Posted January 23, 2009 I eat high protein diet, I went from working out three times a week to 5 times aweek , i've increased my cardio with 10 mintues on the stair climber ....... and i gained three ponds.!!! It sounds like you're losing fat and gaining muscle. Muscle outweighs fat substantially. You will feel much better. Keep up the good work. Congrats to all who are trying so hard!
PBJ Posted January 23, 2009 #103 Posted January 23, 2009 It sounds like you're losing fat and gaining muscle. Muscle outweighs fat substantially. You will feel much better. Keep up the good work. Congrats to all who are trying so hard! Thanks Ponch i knew that . I was going for a little inspirational humor. I was really fat as a kid. I weight 245 lbs. and had a 44 in waist. I was all fat. I lost 60 lbs at the age of 22. Then I bought my first set of weights. I've been reading and experimenting for the last 30 years and have a pretty good system down now. I used to work out alone at home for years then I started working in a gym two years ago. Now I get to switch up my routines and keep my muscles guessing what I'll do next. After 30 years I'm back up to 245 lbs but I only have a 36 in waist. The last two years I have been concentrating on reducing my body fat percentages. Last measurement was about 18% body fat not great but not horrible for 55 years old. Congratulation to all out there losing weight keep up the good work remember its not a diet its a lifestyle, change one that you can all live with easily (even with all the Diary Queen stops). All except you Taters you're thin enough already lady. If you get any lighter Tom will have to put rocks in your leathers so you don't blow off the back of his bike. Take care all.

BIG TOM Posted February 1, 2009 #108 Posted February 1, 2009 As of today,I have lost 25lbs..sound like a lot of weight in a short time ..but you have to remember that I started at 339lbs...weight watchers works great for me..I am never hungry..I just substatute good food from all the junk I ate before..no more Mc Donalds, fried chicken or white bread..I love my bread..now I buy the weight watchers bread..wheat or all grain...eat about 6 slices a day..breakfast each morning is oatmeal or fruit..Lunch is tuna, chicken or turky breast along with a salad with low fat dressing and a piece of fruit..supper is shrimp, fish, turkey, chicken, venison or low fat hamburger with salad, soup and veggies...not a bad diet huh? If I want to snack it is weigh watchers snack bars ..chocolate,banana or any other great flavor they have..I dont crave anything..yogurt with fresh fruit or low fat puddings or jello are two more of my favorites..this is going very well for me so far.. Tuesdays are weigh in days ..hope to lose another 3 or 4 lbs... Everyone is doing great..keep up the good work..We can do this together...:pushups::pushups::pushups::clap2:
93 venture Posted February 1, 2009 #109 Posted February 1, 2009 Well im down 12# been doing the heathy choice meals,so far seems to be working,Hey what about Squid he has not said a word about how his weight is going,Come on Sow brother tell us how your doing.
Squidley Posted February 1, 2009 #110 Posted February 1, 2009 I honestly dont know how much I have lost, not much unfortunately. I have been working on changing my eating habits and eating less. I also have been doing a lot of stretching and walking all 10 stories of the stairs at work twice, I can feel the difference. It sucks as I was really getting to feel good last week early and then my back acted up. I spent all last weekend and up till thursday this week taking it easy as not to aggrivate it. Yesterday it was back to the routine and it felt good (although the weight lifting is making me hurt pretty good) It sounds like many of you are on a good path and are getting into a solid routine. Just remember to keep things liveable, I know that mentally training myself to scale back on eating and desserts is a big challenge. I'm real proud of all you folks for sticking to it, no matter how much we loose, it's good for all of us as we'll hopefully be around a lot longer to drive eachother nuts
Dano Posted February 1, 2009 #111 Posted February 1, 2009 Keep goin', guys and gals! I'm adding to my dimes collection to match you all!

flb_78 Posted February 7, 2009 #113 Posted February 7, 2009 Yesterday was the first time I've stepped on my scale in over a year and it didn't show "ERR" It showed 399.2 Im guessing by the way my work jeans feel, I've lost around 20lbs.
GeorgeS Posted February 7, 2009 #114 Posted February 7, 2009 (edited) They say, drinking more and more water also helps-- I'm working with a 6ft 6in. guy at my gym. He started at about 340, and is down about 40 lb. really a strong guy. After 2 years at the gym he is down about 50lb. on the fat, but has also gained a lot of muscle weight. As to diet, he claims he has slowly changed to about a 2000 calorie's , a day diet, plus Protien supplement. What amazes me, is how slow the fat burns off, even with all the exercise he is doing at the gym. ( 6 days a week, 1 1/2 hour a day ) ( he is benching 250 plus ) I mean, this guy is really hitting it!!! Its still a slow process. Edited February 7, 2009 by GeorgeS
RossKean Posted February 7, 2009 #115 Posted February 7, 2009 For me, an hour of INTENSIVE cardio 4 times per week is the key to loosing the weight and keeping it off. I eat a normal balanced diet and don't panic if I over indulge. While a normal workout (weights and machines) at the gym does a lot for strengthening, flexibility and muscle conditioning, I find that I need the cardio to make serious progress on weight loss. (I do both) Unfortunately, I do very well during the LONG winter months and regress somewhat over the summer (riding and BBQ season). Perhaps I'll get back into a little running this summer - hate to work out indoors when its nice outside. Ross
