OK, I'm gonna have to do some pad replacing this winter. The thieves at the local stealership want $86 for a set of pads. I found these on Ebay for under half the price. Has anyone had any experience with these pads or this seller?

Thanks!

Hey Wayne,

After looking back thru his feedback, the only thing I found was for the most part his items sold were of decent quality but if you have a problem with shipping or a DOA product, you will not have much luck contacting the seller. As an Ebay seller myself, in the past I have had trouble keeping up with all the e-mails from time to time. I'm not trying to make excuses for this person, I'm just saying sometimes it's hard to keep up. That being said, out of the 327 sales for the month of December 2008, there were NO complaints about the quality of the braking related products, there were 2 complaints about the quality of the Lighting products, and 1 complaint about the quality of shipping. My local stealer sells 3 sets of pads in the EBC brand for $57.00. Not as good a deal as Ebay, but not $80.00 If you use Paypal, you will get your money back.....in time!

(personal note, I had this seller bookmarked as well but havn't purchased from him yet)

A couple of years back I picked up a set of these off Ebay..just because. Later when I went to install a pair in the front caliper I found that the metal backing plate was too wide to fit in the void. Had to do a little 'shaping' to make them work. Since then I've found a few EBC sets on Ebay and the others sit. Personally I'd wait until you can find a couple of EBC sets...unless you need them now!!

May i suggest EBC HH Pads instead of the organic Pads in your Link. They may cost a bit more, but are well worth the extra Money.

I agree with squeeze on this one. The EBC HH pads will set you on your nose compared to the other pads I have used. They have worked particularly well when I am pulling my 450 pound loaded camper.

Why, as a matter of fact I bought a set for mine, but for the MK2 brakes, as they are being changed over this winter along with the front shocks. Haven't tried them out but they seem decent enough...

Is that price just for one set of pads or for two? Yes EBC is the brand name. We get them for $38 a pair from our dealer. Most of the guys on here use those. They seem to hold up better and when you're on a bike you want good brakes and good tires.

Margaret, i think there's something not right. Granted, I buy such Parts direct from Wholesale Distributor, but i can have a Set of EBC HH Pads shipped to you for that Price. And i have to pay 19 Percent VAT on the Price. Unless there is a huge Customs Factor involved, there got to be a better Price somewhere in US.

I have found the EBC motorcycle pads I needed for my 87 VR a LOT cheaper than the dealership. Less than half.

In a scrap in Tucumcari, NM I found a HD Sportster set that were the same thing.

I went back to the local stealership today and the ones they sell are in fact the EBC's. If I remember correctly, the price per pair was around $28. I don't know how they came up with a total price of over $80 for all the sets, but they did. I figure I'll just buy the fronts one week, then get for the rear on the next week.

Just keep in mind that all EBC brake pads are not HH. This particular pad compound is for high performance use and is a little bit harder on your rotors.

OK, that is certainly good to know. I don't know that the pads shown to me were the HH, but I'll keep an eye out.

Thanks!
