Eck Posted January 9, 2009 #26 Posted January 9, 2009 Just so I am not misunderstood... I understood your first post completely and you explained your thoughts very well. :think:You know after I think about it some...that extra key switch is not a bad idea though. You could place it under the seat, under the trunk, on mount it in the inner fairing or some where and use it in the event of an emergency only. You would have to make sure it would handle the load. (at least 30 amps) Well, I'm thinking more on the lines of having an extra "key type switch" but I do not want to hide it to much to where I have to get back off the bike to turn it on... I'm thinking of mounting it in the dash and only the "key slot" is showing... If "stock" ignition goes out, I can take the "emergency switch key" off my stock key ring, and insert it into the "emergency key slot" sticking out of the dash, turn it to the on position, hit the starter button, and take off.... The emergency key can be placed on one of those pull apart type key rings so I dont have to remove the stock key from the ignition switch .. I too still have mote thinking to do..
