wvbiker Posted January 5, 2009 #1 Posted January 5, 2009 I was wondering if anyone has towed their RSV behind their vehicle with a motorcycle hitch hauler? Can my RSV be towed by one of these for 1000 miles? Are they safe? Thanks and God Bless. Danny
OB-1 Posted January 5, 2009 #2 Posted January 5, 2009 I tried that with a Harley about 27 years ago and it didn't work very well. The carrier bent right down to the ground as I pulled away from the loading ramp I used to get the front wheel into the carrier. The tow lasted all of four feet. I wouldn't recommend trying a front wheel carrier/tow arrangement for a bike as larger as ours.
wvbiker Posted January 5, 2009 Author #3 Posted January 5, 2009 Thanks, just wondering! Danny:bang head:
Condor Posted January 5, 2009 #4 Posted January 5, 2009 I seen a couple of big diesel pusher motorhomes with full baggers on the transom. I wonder what kind of setup they were using????
Brake Pad Posted January 5, 2009 #5 Posted January 5, 2009 I think those are made for bike with chains, I towed at Kawasaki years ago, and had to remove the chain, to free roll the back tire
Squeeze Posted January 5, 2009 #6 Posted January 5, 2009 You will ruin the angled Gear/Tranny when spinning the rear Wheel without the Motor running. This goes for towing or only rolling down a Hill often enough. Don't ask how i know this.
